How We Test

We test products the way you'd actually use them — in real homes, on real connections, with real budgets in mind. Here's how a product earns a score on BestTopReviews.

Our Process

### We Buy (or Borrow) the Product No brand can pay to be featured, and nothing gets reviewed from a press release. We get the product in hand and use it as our daily driver for the testing window.

### We Test Against the Category Every product is scored against its direct competitors on the same five criteria — performance, features, ease of use, value, and reliability. A 9/10 means it beats most rivals, not that it's flawless.

### We Revisit Our Scores Products change, and so do prices. We re-check reviews regularly and update the score, verdict, and price whenever something moves.

What We Don't Do

We don't accept payment for rankings, we don't publish reviews of products we haven't used, and we don't bury the cons in a footnote. If a product falls short, we say so.
